I was able to post some more images to my flickr site, so follow the link below. We finally had a hot day here, I have been hearing from the Texans back home that there have been some 110 degree days. Yikes!
I can’t believe that I have been here almost 4 weeks. The research continues to go well, tedious, but well.

Got back from Guatemala last week, and have been working for the last 5 days straight. It is not time for a break yet! Iwill post some images to the flicker site that I have listed in previous post. When it is working again. For now, here is one of me at Yaxha, Guatemala.
The research is going well, I have started reconstruction of partial vessels, trying to determine the minimum number that I may have. It is like a big- three-dimensional puzzle. I know some conservators out there who may be familiar with that type of problem.
The weather has been good, everyone says we have a true rainy season this year, we had 6 rain storms yesterday, about an hour each, then a lull, then another. It was very cool last night, and has been quite comfortable.
Can’t complain!
We made it to the island, Ilse la Bonita, or better known as Ambergris. It is a short Cessna flight outside of Belize City. I have posted some pics of the artifacts that I am looking at, and also of the places I have been so far!

So I have a photo of the lab wher I have set up. I had gotten myself all organized, walked out of the room and back again, and realized that one of the bandanas mom made matched the colors and patterns of the ceramics I was looking at. So there you go.
I won’t be back in the lab until next week, I am now at a conference in Belize City, and will go out to Ambergris for a couple of days.
Today I set up the lab with one of the other graduate students doing research here, and began looking at the small finds from the problematic deposit. I had not seen any of this material yet, and was excited to see hammer stones, small fine obsidian blades, and a couple of ceramic spouts. This information will definately be helpful as I try to determine what kind of deposit I am looking at.
It was also beautiful and breezy, so the lab is very comfortable to be in. I have several lizards that live there too, they keep the bug population at bay!
