Survey

Filed under: Uncategorized — Becky @ 3:39 am

We completed our pedestrian survey of 100 potential pad sites to a wind farm in northwest Texas. Wilbarger County. They were approximately 240 meters apart, and we each looked at approximately 30. The weather was beautiful, the terrain easy going, and I was working with some good friends that I met in the field several years ago.

I don’t have my camera with me, but I should be able to get some photos from another member of the survey crew.

Courage

I decided to Google the word “courage” tonight. There is something to be said about facing one’s fears. Our society spends a lot of time trying to numb ourselves with television, material goods, and other means of mental distraction. I have found that if you remove all of these factors, you are faced with yourself. That leads for time to reflect. And that is good.

Quote

I came across this quote at work today. It really struck me as something we don’t consider often enough.

“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

How about some pictures?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Becky @ 9:16 pm

So, I have posted a jillion pictures of my travels, and I would love to hear comments or questions about them. This is not all, but I can’t post everything without overwheming you, the audience, and me the author. Some things are from other peoples excavations, and I don’t want to post without their permission.

So, enjoy, I definately did!
